Today I checked my Opae`ula habitat & there was 7-8 of them. As in my blog before this one don't feed it to much or else your Opae`ulas & their habitat will die. One thing that you can learn is they change color to show their feelings. Also, a tip that you could use is use a tooth pick to grab the food and don't dip the tooth pick into the water. Thank you for reading this.
To take care of you Opae`ula you have to do these things. First, you have to keep your habitat in a place where it's cool. If you don't yours will die. Also you don't have to feed it much. If you do a mountain full, you will pollute the habitat and your Opae`ulas will die. If you like my advice for Opae`ula habitats then read all my blogs this year and next year.
Today I finished the habitat for my Opae`ula. The things we did were cut out strips
Today I put in some accessories. One of them was artificial plants. To put in the artificial plant we need to take the rock out of the habitat. Then when the rock was almost dry, we hot glue the artificial plant and put it back in the habitat. Then we put it somewhere safe.
Preparing gravel is one of the things we need to do for our Opae`ula habitat. Thanks to Mr. David he helped us with the gravel and telling us the steps to getting the dust out. The steps were scope the gravel, poor it in the bucket, put water in the bucket, mix it, poor out the water, and keep on doing it until the water in mostly clean. If you want to know how it felt, it felt super cold. But after today, we will do other things we need to prepare for the Opae`ula habitat.
Today we put in our water. Not just any kind of water, it's brackish water. First, we put water in the bucket. Next, we mixed the bacteria in with the water. Then, we used the hydrometer to see if it is just right.( Make sure it's at 1.006) In our habitat we have a rock, some gravel, and our brackish water. Thank you for reading this.
Do you know where the Opae`ula came from? Answer: They were shipped from the Big Island because we needed them to put in our Opae`ula habitat and make 24 journal entries. There are also 1,000 Opae`ulas in the tank. Also, thanks to Mr. Leong, he is feeding the Opae`ulas a treat (Spirulina Pasifica) and taking care of them until our habitats are made.
