Today I fed my shrimp the spirulina. First, I got out the spirulina and my toothpick. Next, I dipped the toothpick into the spirulina and took it out. Then, I sprinkled the spirulina on the water. Finally, I watched the shrimp and they went crazy!
I made a video of the Opae`ula habitat in progress using the app called " iMovie". It shows step-by-step instructions. If you would like to make one don't hesitate! I worked very hard on it so I hope you like it!
Today I brought home my Opae`ula habitat. First, I poured all of the brackish water back into my habitat. Next, I fed my shrimp the Spirulina. Then, I observed the Opae`ula. I have 10 shrimp currently and they are very active! Finally, I posted my blog!
Today, we learned how to take care of our Opae`ula habitat. We only feed them spirulina. How much? Stick the tip of the toothpick in the spirulina and tap the toothpick on the glass and that will be enough. First, we learned the stages of the opae`ula. The first stage is the egg, the second is larva, third is juvenile, the fourth is molted shell, and the fifth is adult. Next, we learned how to feed the shrimp. Then, we learned how to clean the tank. Finally, we learned what to do and what not to do.
Today we got the most important part of our habitat, the shrimp! First, we cut strips of sticky memory foam. Next, we stuck our memory foam on our caps. Then, I got 10 shrimp. Finally, we put our caps on and our habitat was finished!
Today,we put our accessories in our habitats. First, we took our rocks to let them dry. Next, we chose a artificial plant and stuck it in a rock. Finally, we put it in our habitat.
Today we made the salt water, put in the gravel, and chose a rock that had algae on it. First, we took out our glass containers and chose a rock with algae on it. Next, we put cinders on the gravel. Then, we filled a bucket of water and put salt in it. Finally, we put the salt in it, mixed it up, measured it with the hydrometer, and made sure it was 0.06 in salt.
Today we prepared the gravel for the Opae`ula habitat. First, we received the glass containers and labeled them. Next, we measured the gravel. Then, we washed the gravel. Finally, we poured the water out and put it in containers.
