My opae`ula are staying on the rocks. I saw a a skin of the opae`ula. I feed them good, they get a lot of light. I think I have 12 or so, there's too many to count. There's some algae growing in the tank.
Sorry, I was a little late. In August my opae`ula were mostly going on the rocks. Most of them are red. I am feeding them good. There are too many to count and I cannot see the eggs. They are getting a lot of light in the guestroom.
The Opae`ula are eating well and I put them in our guest room, where its cold and cool. They are very active. I have ten opae`ula which are red. They seem to like the tank so thats good. A lot of them seem to go on the rocks.
Today, I brought home my opae`ula home. When I got home I feed them spirlina and they ate it. I put them in the guest room where its nice and cold. They seem very active running/swimming around everywhere. A lot of them seem to go on the rocks. They seem to really like their habitat. I will try to take care of them really well. I am still trying to trying to find how to upload the picture to the blog. So good bye.
Today, we added in our opae`ula. Since I got five opae`ula bucks I get ten shrimp. They doubled the amount of shrimp since we don't only get five.I am very excited to take my shrimp home. The habitat has, a rock with a leaf, The salt water is in, The gravel is in and we just made the cover. Since in the tank there's only shrimp so you can see the opae'ula easily and you can see the big shrimp.
Today, we added accessories in our tank. So we picked a rock last time and we glued a plant leave to the rock. We had to dry half of the rock because if we dried both sides the bacteria and algae would die. We hot glued the leaf on if you wanted to know. The opae`ula can go on the rock and the leaf. Then can go on it and its also used for decoration.
My goals for today is, Using a hydrometer, making fresh water which has a specific gravity of 1.000, sea water which has a specific gravity of 1.024, make a specific water with a gravity of 1.006 to 1.008.
First we put the gravel that had bacteria on it. Next we chose a rock with algae on it. Third, we mixed the salt with the normal water. Fourth, we measured the hydrometer in the water it was 1.008. Then,we had to fill the cup halfway with the water we used. Last, there is how you make brackish water using a hydrometer. Today we was preparing the gravel so we had to transfer the gravel in to the bucket (15 scoops). Then we had to get water and pour it into the bucket. After we did that we had to empty the water into the grass. Then each of us had to put five scoops into our cup. Then now we are done. So that is how you prepare gravel for your opae`ula tank. There are one thousand Opae Ula's in here and I can't wait to take my home. The shrimp was sent here from the Big Island. I like Opae Ula's and I have seven at home now from somewhere I went. I will manage my time and try to always write in my blog every month for 2 years. Right now I have 3 Opae Ula bucks and on the end of summer school I will cash in my bucks for shrimp so I have a lot of time to get more bucks. The Opae Ula eat spirulina and I wish that I took a picture when they were eating. The shrimp like going on the rocks and there's four bigger shrimp in there and they run away from those shrimp.
