My shrimp has been eating well and I don't think any of my shrimp died yet because sometimes I feed my shrimp too much. It looks like my shrimp are healthy and strong.
This video was created by me,Samantha, Yaeko, made this presentation about how to make our shrimp tank.
My opae`ula that live in the tank I created for them was put on a table. I think they can survive in the tank because most of the time its cool and hot but its not that hot.I feed my shrimp every day or I think because I don't see any dead shrimp. The way I know that is because the water is clear but only when I feed it its not clear and that's it for today's blog.
In this post I will lead you step by step to how you make your cover and how to carefully put your opea`ula into your vessel. First, get two pieces of memory foam to stick to the sides of the cover to keep its place. Now the last touch you need to have on the cover is to have at least a hole at the top to give the water oxygen for the shrimp to breathe. Now when you read the bottom of this paragraph you will learn how to carefully pout your shrimp into the tank. Now before you put your cover on is to get your shrimp so get a net to catch the shrimp. Then go from the side with the net and catch the shrimp. Finally, you have finished every thing then you can admire your work you finished.
The first, step to do is shake your glass jar carefully so all the gravel is not on the rock. The second, thing to do on how to make the accessories for the vessel if you want to you dry out the rock if you have one from in your tank. Don't leave your rock out for a long period of time in the sun on a humid day because the bacteria will not be on the rock for the shrimp. Next, choose a fake plant to put in side by the rock just for fun but maybe it might make it feal
An optional choice that you can add is to put a rock into your opae`ula habitat. The first, step in making brackish water is getting half of a tea spoon of cinder. Next, put a little bit of fresh water and fake salt . Now you mix the water to mix the salt and fresh water. Then, get a hydrometer and fill it up with no bubbles so the spinner thing in it 1.1006. Now you can fill your rose jar (vase) with the brackish water you created today half way from the top. Lastly, leave your jar with your brackish water in ti out side in the sunlight for at least a week.
The first step was to pour the gravel into a rose jar and navigate how much gravel to put in. Then pour the gravel into the bucket and fill the bucket with fresh water an inch and a half. The next step is to rinse the water until the fresh water is clear and not cloudy. Then mix your gravel and the fresh water to get the dust off of the gravel. Now use your hands to scoop up the clean gray or black gravel into your rose jar and while your doing that watch to fill up to the spot you filled it to when the gravel was dry. When your going outside then hold your vase nicely or it will crack when you drop it. Now you have your gravel to make your opae`ula habitat. The opae`ula got its name because opae means shrimp and ula means red so put it together and get opae`ula. The shrimp was provided from the big island (got from)in pools where lava once flowed. The opae`ula is stronger than a big shrimp. If the bigger shrimp is faster then normal shrimp then they are harder to catch in a pool on the big island. The shrimp we are keeping are with this type of food called Spairulina or they eat algae. They turn white or pink when scared or shocked. The shrimp need the right amount of lighting and temperature if not it they will die.
